User assumes all risk

October 2024

Experimental

1:03 - Microshort

Dark, vulnerable, and uncomfortable.

- FLASH WARNING -

Usually a place of cleanliness and washing away filth, a shower is one of the most vulnerable areas. Long fingernails, stuck hair, and grime leave the viewer questioning. It may also reveal more about the viewer and your thoughts and feelings.

Do you want to help? Do you want to run away? Are you repulsed? Are you afraid? Do you relate? A warning sign. User/viewer assumes all risk. Check in with yourself and take care of yourself and your environment.

This short has been in the works since October and has had so many different drafts and interpretations. I wanted to keep it vague and thought-provoking. I recently went to a critique night at the Center For The Visual Arts with this micro-short to get feedback. It was a great way to see an outside perspective on the work I do. The perspectives I picked up made me think of this short in a completely new way, others picking up little things I never would have otherwise thought of. It helped me be confident in my work and have faith that it is intriguing. Thanks to the CVA, I can’t wait to go to the next one.
